Exotic salad

I have a thing about strange food combinations, especially mixing sweet and salty together. This recipe proves it and although the ingredients may seem strange at first sight, the final product is really fresh and delicious. It is a spring/summer type of salad and goes very well with chilled white wine. Here’s what you need:


Serves one big bowl

  • 1 tomato
  • 1 big lettuce
  • a handful of baby spinach (optional)
  • 1 cup feta cheese
  • half a cup strawberries
  • sesame seeds
  • chives
  • olive oil
  • lemon juice
  • salt, pepper


Wash you greens and chop them finely. Put the in a large bowl and add the cut in squares cheese. Cut the tomatoes and the strawberries. Chop the chives and use its flowers, too. Combine everything in the bowl, season with salt, pepper, olive oil and lemon juice and mix very well. Before serving, sprinkle with some sesame seeds. Serve right away with chilled white wine.
